Tell me about yourself.
This would be a common question of every interview. You need to prepare for this question with your details like name, location, education details, and professional experiences in US IT Staffing.
 What are the time zones?
There are 4 major time zones in US EST, CST, MST and PST
  • EST: Eastern time zone
  • CST: Central time zone
  • MST: Mountain time zone
  • PST: Pacific time zone
Each time zone has 1 hr time gap in between.
How many states are there in the US?
50 states are there in the US.

What are the tax terms?
There are different types of tax terms
1099, W2 and C2C.
W2: In this, all the taxes will be paid by the company itself.
1099: In this, all the taxes will be paid by the candidate himself.
C2C: c2c means corp-corp. it is between companies. In this, taxes of the candidate will be paid by the employer who holds the visa of the candidate. The employer will get paid by another company.

What are the technologies you have worked on?
You have to answer with the technologies you have worked on for example Java develop, .Net developer, Business analyst, data analyst and python developer, etc.,
What are your roles& responsibilities as a US IT recruiter?
it varies with the type of requirement

if it is W2 requirement:

After getting the requirement from my account manager I will analyze the requirement clearly. If I get any doubts regarding the requirement, I will directly contact my Account manager.
After getting a clear idea about the requirement, I will start working on the requirement.
As it is W2 requirement I will prepare the Boolean search string according to the requirement and also according to the skill set, then I will copy search string and will paste it on the job boards like Monster and CareerBuilder.
Then I will reach out to the candidates, and will explain the Job Description clearly,
If he is comfortable with the requirement then I will send a mail to collect the required details for the submission.
After getting all the details, I will forward the profile to the client through my A/C Manager.

If it is a C2C requirement:

I will send mails to the thousands of my employer database, also I will try to find the profile using google groups / LinkedIn / Facebook or by posting Job description in the portals, then I will screen the candidates and will submit to the client through my A/C Manager.
After submitting the profile, I will do follow up from time to time until the candidate got placed.
What are your roles& responsibilities as bench sales recruiter?
As a bench sales recruiter, my day to day responsibilities will be Maintaining good communication with the candidates on the bench.
Finding the suitable requirements based on the candidate technology through my LinkedIn connection and my vendor database.
Sending the candidate profile to the vendors, if they are ok with the profile then negotiating the rate. And then confirming the rate by sending the required documents of the candidate.
Doing follow up on the submissions for the next steps.
What are the clients you have worked with as a US IT recruiter?
Name the clients that you have worked, for example, Google, JPMC, Capital one, Wells Fargo, etc.,  
What are the prime vendors you have worked with as bench sales recruiter?
Name the prime vendors that you have worked with for example Robert half, Judge group, Randstad, Tek systems, etc.,  
What are the different types of visas?
H1B, CPT, OPT, F1, GC, L1, H4 EAD, GC-EAD, and US citizen.

 What is a string?
A string is a type of search criteria to find out the resumes from Job Portals using “and”/ “or” and “and not” operators.
What is SSN?
SSN means Social Security number. it is a nine-digit number issued to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and temporary (working) residents.it is issued to an individual by the Social Security Administration, the primary purpose is to track individuals for Security purposes.
What is Hotlist?
Hot List is the list of consultants on their own w2 of a company with all the details like visa, location, and experience.
How many candidates you have placed so far?
You can say the no. of candidates you have placed in your experience.
How many submissions you can make in a day?
3 to 4 submissions in a day on an average.
